Synopsis
The great geographic diversity of Mexico provides experiences of very different situations. There are places with almost no rainfall during the year and it is a mystery how the indigenous population survive in them. But there are also places with abundant rainfall, where excessive rain also has very drastic consequences.
When the Storms Come is a video documentary showing a year in the daily life of the Rivera family, before, during and after the rainy seasons. It also reveals that the state authorities show not even the slightest interest. Living 120 days in the water when the storms come is a question of a survival.
