This program presents some of the most outstanding films from Wapikoni, offering an overview of themes addressed over the past 20 years and highlighting the creativity of the filmmakers, as well as their perspectives on their own reality and culture. Special importance was given to the impact of these works on the careers of the filmmakers and the mark they left on both Indigenous and non-Indigenous audiences. The talent of these artists has been recognized even on the international stage, at prestigious festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, Sundance, TIFF, and the Cannes film market. The stories and voices of Indigenous Peoples will continue to shine for a long time.
