Sek Buy (The Ritual to the Sun)

Aurora, a 10-year-old Nasa girl, investigates the meaning of the sacred calendars, how they govern community life in balance and harmony with Mother Earth. As she explores her culture with pride and joy, Aurora, along with cosmogonic beings and wise men, discovers her identity, independence and responsibility as a member of an ancestral community when she participates in the most important ceremony of the Nasa people (southern Colombia), the Sek Buy, or sun ritual, which takes place every June 21 to celebrate the beginning of the solar year.
