Synopsis
She is Gilberta Jiménez, a Xinca woman, activist and defender of the Earth, the fourth protagonist of the short documentary series Seres de Niebla.
“My struggle is together with young women in recovering and defending our territory, bodies and land. I hope that more young women can be trained, more girls and adolescents can know and recognise their bodies and have the tools to defend themselves against violence.”
The Seres de Niebla series of short documentaries by the Lemow Collective is a communication project that seeks to use photography and audiovisuals (short documentaries), to portray and raise the visibility of the struggle by many Guatemalan women who, through their work spaces, are creating better living conditions for many women. Raising the visibility of the struggles of women’s leaders provides recognition of their work and contribution to building a more tolerant society.
