SDN #3 – Galilea Bracho – LGTBIQ+ Human Rights Activist and Defender

She is Galilea Monroy, an activist and defender of LGTBIQ+ human rights, the third protagonist of the short documentary series Seres de Niebla.

“Regardless of a human being’s sexual orientation or gender identity, everyone who may be part of this community, we are all human beings, who feel, who perceive and who cry; we are not crazy, as society has often led us to believe.”

The Seres de Niebla series of short documentaries by the Lemow Collective is a communication project that seeks to use photography and audiovisuals (short documentaries), to portray and raise the visibility of the struggle by many Guatemalan women who, through their work spaces, are creating better living conditions for many women. Raising the visibility of the struggles of women’s leaders provides recognition of their work and contribution to building a more tolerant society.
