Synopsis
In the context of the Colombian post-conflict, the Nasa indigenous people are among the peoples most affected by the war that has been going on for more than 50 years in their territory. The conflict has driven them little by little to oblivion and the abandonment of their ancestral knowledge and ancient spiritual practices.
Today it is a desire for them to walk again in the footsteps of their ancestors and recover their customs and practices. Given this and their great concern for revitalising Mother Earth in times of climate change, they decided to once again practice one of the major rituals from their roots, whose sole purpose is offering a sacrifice to Mother Earth, to connect with the spirits of nature as a community, ask forgiveness for the ill-treatment by Man and thank them for life. This offering is a tree called Saakhelu.
