Synopsis

This documentary looks at how the territorial space of Nguiñiwe is understood and interpreted. This is one of the Rewe (territorial space) that make up the Aylla Rewe Budi, with heritage sites and socio-political structure based on the Mapuche cosmovision, and thus helps to understand how Mapuche life has developed out of the Kimvn and Rakidzuam (ancestral wisdom and philosophy), establishing a harmonious relationship with the Itrofillmongen (diversity of lives).

The film also explains the notion of reality stemming from Mapuche ancestral knowledge and historical memory, where the significance of territorial spaces and their toponymy become visible, together with the forms of organisation around them, the organisation of the territory, the ways in which biodiversity is used and sustainably managed, and the forms and spaces of communication and transfer of knowledge regarding the ancestral territory. This provides a better understanding of the processes of safeguarding and conserving culture and heritage sites significant to the Mapuche people.
