Synopsis

Piatúa Resists documents the process of struggle and legal defence of the Piatúa River by the native Kichwa communities settled in the Santa Clara canton, province of Pastaza (Ecuador) against the construction of a hydroelectric dam by GENEFRAN S.A.

The documentary arose out of a community audiovisual process through the production company TAWNA, Cine desde Territorio, which contributes to strengthening Amazonian cultures and vindicating their individual and collective rights, through the construction of their own narratives.
