Synopsis
Raised by a Mixtec mother and a Dutch father, the filmmaker embarks on a personal journey to her mother’s indigenous village in Oaxaca. Through conversations with community members, she reflects on the changing landscape and documents her experience of migration and return. The documentary shows a personal view of her homeland, Chalcatongo (Oaxaca, Mexico), a view that becomes a search for identity constructed through dialogues with its inhabitants and the memory of an emigration contrasting with the experience of a return in the present.
