Synopsis
Ayelén is a very conscientious and curious child. At the onset of winter, her grandmother Paya arrives home because she is sick. Ayelén insistently reads her book of Chilean trees, while her grandmother criticises the knowledge she is gaining from it. So she decides to introduce Ayelén to Mapuche orality, a source of knowledge more authentic than that of any scientific book. The winter ends and Paya leaves with it. Ayelén understands her grandmother’s valuable teaching and witnesses a powerful transformation.
