Synopsis

Alicia, a journalist, and Sayri, a Kichwa photographer, star in this story of love, racism and persecution. A few photographs and a news item at an inopportune moment give rise to a plot that follows the personal confrontation between a corrupt and servile government official and an indigenous leader determined to defend his community against a mining company. The clash between the two represents two opposing ways of living and being part of the world: the official concerned with mining, money and development, and the indigenous leader who fights to defend nature. The couple and the community experience the consequences first hand.
