Synopsis
Xanen Weni (Pedro Sinuiri) and Reshin Rabi (Ana Ochavano) offer us a small window into their extensive world of ancestral knowledge about medicinal plants. Together, they alternate a narrative that introduces us to some of the medicinal plants around them, the place where they welcome people for treatment, and the methods they use to prepare some of their medicines. Some icaros (traditional songs) accompany these narratives in ways that truly heal.
Participatory video created as part of the inter-community Shipibo meeting “Jakon Jati,” held at the Oni Xobo center in the Native Community of Nueva Betania.
