Synopsis
The educational community of Quilquico on the Rilán Peninsula in Chiloé, within the framework of introducing the subject of Indigenous Language and Culture, begins to reflect on the identity of the territory, leading to the discovery of the rebellion of the Williche communities in 1712. This uprising occurred in response to the harsh treatment and abuses by Spanish encomenderos. The tactical epicenter was precisely in Quilquico, where a trawun of palín (a traditional Mapuche game) was held, leading the community to decide to rise up in fifteen days during the next full moon. This history had been forgotten and unknown to its inhabitants and new generations. From this discovery, they initiate a process of research to bring this event out of the history books and back to the territory through a documentary with community participation, embarking on a journey through history. This process also helps the members of this school to assume responsibility for education, integrating memory and self-recognition of their roots.
