Synopsis
At the age of 40, Sawsi, an indigenous man from the village of Los Pastos, must say goodbye to his grandmother, the loved one who accompanied him throughout his life and who taught him to take care of the chagra, to weave and take care of his home. Surrounded by volcanoes and lagoons, the man lives a solitary life, believing he cannot love anyone because of his sterility, which he inherited from his mother due to the miado del cueche disease. However, Mikay, an indigenous woman of the region tries to approach him and help him in his sadness and loneliness. Together they undertake the journey to a waterfall where the grandparents say that the spirit of Mother Nature dwells and gives vigour to males. There Sawsi has a vision of his grandmother and the message of the ancestors who grant him the fatherhood of a future leader. Thus he understands that life is not only sown in women, but in the territories and in the children who will be the leaders and defenders of the history, identity and culture of the Pastos.
