Synopsis
In 2007, the National Commission for the Development of Indigenous Peoples (CDI) wanted to impose a delegate from the institution on the state of Guerrero, without the consultation and participation of the indigenous peoples of the state, as laid down in Article 2 of our Magna Carta, ILO Convention 169 and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Faced with this attack by federal and state government, the indigenous peoples and organisations of the southern state mobilised and fought to stop the imposition.
