In 2019, a new government came to power in Brasília, promoting the dismantling of rights and encouraging the occupation of indigenous territories by miners and agro-industrialists. At the same time, various indigenous peoples in Brazil mobilized and occupied the capitals, resisting and asserting their right to exist and their territories, leading to some of the largest cosmopolitical demonstrations in the country, such as the Terra Livre Camp 2022.
