Erwin Melgar, an experienced anthropologist from the Centre for Forensic Anthropology and Applied Sciences (CAFCA) in Guatemala, has a difficult job: exhuming the remains of a massacre in Ixcán, Quiché, with 250 bodies so burned all genetic material is lost.
